3rd Graders Display Creativity While Reading Classic Children’s Tale

Third grade students at Brooklyn School recently read and engaged with the beloved children’s tale, The Wind in the Willows, through a series of learning activities that encouraged creativity, writing, and other important skills. For one of the activities, students created a variety of disguises for one of the main characters to prevent the authorities from pursuing them after they escaped from jail. Mr. Toad was a popular choice for this project, and students selected an assortment of clever disguises for the character, including Super Mario, an axolotl, Papa John’s pizza delivery worker, and more! Students also practiced their writing and critical thinking skills by choosing a character and writing an opinion piece that focused on a theme that best represented their character, using evidence from the text to support their opinion. Congratulations to our third-grade students for their superb creativity and work!
